Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you want to know about working with Cruze Intelligent Systems, honestly answered.

We Answer the Hard Ones Too

Is Cruze Intelligent Systems a registered company?

Yes. Cruze Intelligent Systems is the operating brand of Cruze Intelligent Systems (U) Limited, a private limited company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act 2012. Registration No: 80034826845237 | TIN: 1057212044. We are a legitimate, accountable entity, you can verify our registration with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB). We operate professionally with proper documentation for every engagement.

Where are you based? Do you work with clients outside Gulu?

Our headquarters are in Gulu City, Northern Uganda. However, we work with clients across Uganda and East Africa, including Kampala, Jinja, Mbarara, and internationally. Most of our work is done remotely (all we need is clear communication), and we travel to client sites for discovery sessions, training, and critical deployments. Location is rarely a barrier.

What technology services do you offer?

We offer eight core services: Software Development, Mobile App Development, AI & Data Analytics, Cloud Solutions, Cybersecurity, Digital Consulting, Intelligent Systems & Automation, and Tech Training & Capacity Building. Each service is designed to address the real technology challenges faced by organisations operating in Uganda and East Africa. See our Services page for full details on each.

How long does custom software development take?

It depends on scope. A simple internal business tool typically takes 3–6 weeks. A medium-complexity system (POS, school management, SACCO system) takes 6–12 weeks. Enterprise-grade or highly custom systems take 3–6 months. We always provide a transparent project roadmap during our initial consultation, and we communicate progress weekly throughout development. We don't disappear for months and reappear with a finished product, you're involved throughout.

Do you work with startups and SMEs?

Absolutely, and we enjoy it. Startups and SMEs are often our most interesting clients because the problems they're solving are fresh and locally relevant. We offer flexible engagement models, including phased development (so you don't have to build everything at once), MVP development (get a working version in weeks, not months), and retainer-based support. We understand that budgets are limited, and we'll help you get maximum value from every shilling.

How does your pricing work?

We offer three models depending on your needs: Fixed-price contracts for well-defined projects (you know exactly what you're paying before we start); Time & materials for exploratory or evolving projects (you pay for what we deliver); and Retainer agreements for ongoing development and support (a set monthly fee for guaranteed availability). All pricing is discussed openly during consultation, no surprises. Starting prices for each service are listed on our Services page.

Do your systems support Mobile Money payments?

Yes, and we consider this a core requirement, not a feature add-on. We integrate MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money into every system where payments are involved. Uganda is a Mobile Money-first economy, and your systems should reflect that. We also support bank transfer integrations and can add Visa/Mastercard payment gateways where needed. Your users should always be able to pay the way they already pay.

What post-launch support do you provide?

Every project includes a 30-day free support period after launch, during which we fix any bugs and handle handover queries at no extra charge. After that, we offer monthly maintenance packages covering security patches, performance monitoring, bug fixes, and minor feature updates. We also provide user training for your team. Our support is local, you call or WhatsApp us directly, and you reach the people who built the system. No helpdesk queue, no offshore support team.

Can you modernise or upgrade our existing system?

Yes, and this is actually one of the most valuable things we do. Many organisations in Uganda are running systems built 5–10 years ago that are slow, insecure, or can't scale. We assess your current system, migrate your data safely, and rebuild on modern infrastructure, without disrupting your operations. We've handled migrations from desktop-based systems to web and mobile platforms, legacy database upgrades, and API integrations to connect old systems with new tools.

Do you build for low-bandwidth and offline environments?

Yes, this is one of our core design principles. Uganda's internet infrastructure, especially outside Kampala, is not always reliable. We build offline-first applications that store data locally and sync when connectivity is available. Our web apps are optimised to load quickly on 3G connections and work on affordable Android devices. We also offer SMS-based functionality for areas with very limited data access. Your system should work where your users are, not just where the fibre is.
